Dear Parents
As many of you are already aware it is highly probably that the swimming pool will fail the inspection next year. The only way to ensure the pool’s survival for the coming generations is for the school and parents to raise the funds needed to complete the work by April 2010.
In order to achieve our target of £22,000 a Fund Raising Committee has been established to sit underneath the FROGS umbrella. Rest assured that the two committees are working hand in hand to achieve our common goals and improve the facilities at our wonderful school for all our children.
The Pool fund raising plans include:
• Fitness Festival - Saturday 3rd October 1100hrs – 1530hrs Sponsored races, Toddlers Walks, Assault Course, Penalty shoot-outs, Tennis tournament, Coffee & Cakes …plus much more. Please come along with friends, grandparents, aunts and uncles; there will be plenty for everyone.
• Balloon Launch - Friday 18th September Year R – 1200hrs/Rest of school – 1445hrs. £1 per balloon payable to the class teacher on the day. See how far your balloon can travel – prizes for the furthest.
• Mobile Phone Recycling Ongoing collection depot in the T section for unwanted mobile phones.
• Rural Development Programme Grant Application Current ongoing application via Winchester & East Hampshire Fieldfare LEADER for funding. Support needed in the form of letters or stories from parents and local residents which should be addressed to the school.
• Direct Debit & Gift Aid I have been approached by many of you who would quite simply like to donate cash to the fund, either on a monthly basis or a one-off deposit. A Direct Debit form is attached for those parents who would like to make a monthly contribution, along with the Gift Aid statement to enable us to claim back the tax element. For one-off contributions transfers can be made directly to our bank account (details as per Direct Debit form) or cheques/cash dropped into the jar in the T section.
• eBay Ongoing collection depot in the T section for any items suitable for selling via eBay. Items must be of good quality and working order. We are currently setting the fund up as a charity to sell items, or for sellers to donate a % of their sales to us via this route.
• Sponsorship Board For a donation of £500 local businesses will be offered the opportunity to display their company logo.
As a small committee we would welcome any new members or volunteers to help out occasionally, please contact me if you are able to offer any assistance or wish to join the committee.
Thanks again for your continued support.
Claire May Chair of the Swimming Committee
