Ropley Junior Cricket

Passionate & urgent shouts of “Four!” and “Six!” can often be heard between 6.30 and 8.00 pm on any Thursday between late April & late July at Ropley’s recreation ground. You have to listen keenly to determine whether it’s the cry of one of Ropley’s eighty junior cricketers going for broke or an equally committed cricketing parent, making sure their drinks order at the Sports Pavillion bar is heard.

Ropley Junior Cricket runs 5 age groups & teams: U9s; U11s; U13s; U15s; U17s. It provides coaching and opportunities to compete in team matches throughout the cricket season for all girls and boys from 7 years old onwards.

It has fantastic facilities: Ropley rec with its dedicated cricket square & the field behind Hale Close with the newly installed, ECB approved cricket nets there. Ropley Junior Cricket had a great 2011 season with all age groups performing superbly & coming away with accolades and triumphs that belied Ropley’s small village roots. Ropley Junior Cricket works hard to develop its juniors to the best of their abilities while staying firmly focused on remaining a very happy and inclusive village club

Ropley Junior Cricket is now preparing for its 2012 season with indoor nets starting at Perins for all age groups on 14th January 2012.  The outdoor season will start on 26th April. Ropley Junior Cricket is always delighted to welcome any new faces – junior cricketers, male & female, to play & adult volunteers to help out .
