Florence Nightingale visits Ropley
As part of this half term's topic, and on International Women's Day, Year 1 and 2 became trainee nurses in a hospital during the Crimean War. They learnt how to make a hospital bed, scrubbed the floors, washed the laundry, made soup for the injured soldiers, studied real artifacts and made lamps to see by. They were even visited by Florence Nightingale herself, who was very impressed with their skills!
