Norma's Garden

Norma Day was a contributor and ardent supporter of our school for over 40 years. This includes her role as both an Early Years Learning Support Assistant and then as a Foundation Governor.

Sadly, Norma lost her battle with cancer.  Thanks to a successful bid to the Community Infrastructure Levy Scheme we have been able to develop an area in our school grounds called Norma's Garden.  The children can spend time quietly reflecting, playing board games, reading or drawing in this space.  The next part of this project is to develop a 'bee friendly' garden.  Thanks to the support and input from Dilys Warwick and Sarah Hilder, a plan has been created to plant up the garden with a multitude of shrubs, perennials, bulbs and wild flowers, that will provide interest all year round and will also help to support our bee friends!  We are looking for support with this from our school and local community.

Do you have, or would you be willing to buy, an established shrub or a herbaceous plant or have one that would happily be divided?  We would like:

Fuschia bush x 1

Various Hebe's x 4

Euonymous

Rudbeckia x 2

Meadow plants

Thyme x 1

Poppies

Verbena x 1

Scabiosa x 2

Michelmas Daisy x 2

Potentilla x 1

Hellebore x 2

Fern x 2

Allium x 1

Geranium x 2

Primrose x 4

If you are able to donate any of the above, please let us know by emailing the school office on: adminoffice@ropleyschool.hants.sch.uk or calling 01962 772381

All donations are gratefully accepted.  If you would prefer to make a monetary donation instead, please pop it into an envelope and drop off to the main reception.

We look forward to our garden coming to life over the coming months!  Thank you so much for your support.
