Arts Week
This year, we took part in Alton Arts Week.
We installed a miniature garden in Anstey Park, Alton, that kicked off Alton Arts Week as part of their creative garden trail from Holybourne to Chawton.
Then we celebrated all things arts! The arts are fundamental to expanding children’s experiences, building empathy and confidence, and increasing wellbeing. The children spent time creating some amazing art work which they proudly displayed to parents and carers in an exhibition.
To finish of the week, the children took part in an African drumming workshop and a Yo-Chi workshop. The pavilion in Norma’s Garden proving to be the perfect space for the drums! It was lovely to listen to the rhythmic melodies that invoked images of the Serengeti, sunshine and far off lands. The children loved it!
The Yo-Chi workshop is an educational and creative programme that combines yoga, tai-chi, drama and mindfulness. All of the children embraced their sessions and really enjoyed what they learnt.
