Carpenter Bees Home Learning 06.01.26
Happy New Year Carpenter Bees!
This wasn't quite how we expected to start the new year. I hope you had a lovely Christmas, spent time with your families and got lots of rest. We have got lots of exciting things planned for this half term so I hope you are looking forward to coming back to school.
Maths
In Maths, we were refreshing our place value learning, looking at how we can partition numbers in different ways. For example you can partition 45 into 40 + 5 and 20 + 25. Have a go at partitioning these numbers.
Level 1 - Partition these numbers into tens and ones.
Level 2 - Partition these numbers two different ways
Level 3 - Partition these numbers into all the ways you can using tens and ones.
1) 36
2) 47
3) 72
4) 58
5) 63
6) 84
There are some extra challenges at the bottom if you would like to have a go.
English
I wonder if you could describe your view from your window... Remember, I can't see your window so you could run wild with your imagination! Maybe there is a chocolate factory outside, maybe there is a theme park! You can create a real description or a view which is totally in your imagination. Think about your senses to help you describe what you can see, I have added a word bank of adjectives to help you, how can you bring your 'view' to life?
Reading
Find a book to curl up and read, choose a book that you enjoy; it can be fiction or non-fiction. Don't forget to bring your reading books back in tomorrow and we will swap them over too!
PE
It would have been PE today, and this half term we are going to do a mixture of gymnastics and yoga, so have a look at these videos, some are short and some are longer so do some investigating! https://www.youtube.com/@CosmicKidsYoga/videos
PSHE
Last half term in PSHE, we talked about challenging ourselves to push ourselves out of our comfort zones and become more independent learners as well. I want you to have a think about 1 thing you are going to do this half term to challenge yourself in your learning and we will talk about this tomorrow.
Have a lovely day, we can't wait to see you hopefully tomorrow with a lovely warm classroom!
Miss Richards :)
