At Ropley C.E Primary School, we support a number of charitable events throughout the year.  Although we support the national fundraisers, such as Children In Need, Sport Relief, Comic Relief and Cancer Research, we also support smaller, more local charities such as the Foodbank and Mission Christmas.  Our Learning Council also select three charities each year which the children vote on to decide which charity our school community will mainly support.  This year, the children voted for the RSPCA as our main charity.

So far this year we have supported the following charities:

Alton Foodbank

We collected 86kg of food which is approximately 100 meals.  2 of our Learning Council delivered our collection and had a tour of the warehouse and learnt about where the food goes and who it helps.

We held our bi-annual Bag2School collection in November and raised £192.80 with 482kg of clothing.

Mission Christmas

This year we signed up to be a gift donation point for Mission Christmas, a Wave 105FM initiative to ensure local children living in poverty have a Christmas Day to remember.  Ropley children and parents supported this initiative wholeheartedly and we collected a huge pile of gifts for this worthy cause.

Our Nativity retiring collection this year raised £247.83.

Save The Children

This year's Christmas Jumper Day appeal raised £215.69

Poppy Appeal

We were delighted to hear that Ropley School raised £181.19 for the Poppy Appeal.  This contributed to a total of over £26,000 which was raised by Alton and district area alone, the most the area has ever raised!

Comic Relief

This year we enjoyed a 'Wear Something Red for Comic Relief' for a donation.  This year, we raised just over £130.
